PTO TEACHER GRANT PROGRAM
The Bellaire High School PTO appreciates all of our teachers, administrators, and staff who work so diligently all year long on our students’ behalf. The PTO Teacher Grant Program is one way the PTO helps to support these efforts, providing funds to any and all BHS staff to be used for supplies, equipment, and other items which have a direct and beneficial impact on the quality of education for our students. To date, over $400,000 has been distributed by the PTO and its Teacher Grant Program since the program’s inception in 1996.
Applications are made available to BHS staff for online submission shortly after the beginning of the new school year and – in some years – again in the spring. Requested amounts must be no greater than $3,000. Grant applications must detail the cost of items requested and how the grant will benefit the students. The application also requires the submission of a minimum of two bids for the items being sought. The Teacher Grant Committee reviews each of the grant applications and decides how the PTO grant money will be disbursed. (Note: Requests exceeding $3,000 can be made using this same application form, but would be considered separately by the entire body of the PTO, and not as a part of this Teacher Grant Program. Please note that there is no special funding allocated in the PTO’s budget for requests exceeding $3,000.) When completing your Teacher Grant Application, please remember the following requirements:

- Applicants must be BHS PTO members in order to qualify for a grant.
- If applicable, requests need to have already gone through the appropriate department funding process.
- All items purchased shall become property of Bellaire High School.
- Individual names should not be included on any of the items requested.
- Team uniforms/attire are not eligible for this program.
- Applications open Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
- All receipts need to be submitted by Friday, December 20, 2019.
